Pepper ♥'s Salt!

With Valentines Day just around the corner I thought I'd share a photo of these lovely Salt and Pepper shakers that I picked up a while back at the Victory Theatre Antiques Centre in Blackheath. I especially love their expressions!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Well its been a super busy year! Now its time to be festive and celebrate! As you can see from the video above I was pretty happy to get He-Man and Battlecat for Christmas way back in 1986, its good to see not much has changed. Thanks for all you support throughout 2011, I hope Santa is good to you, see you in the New Year!

Found: The Nautical Timber Trio

I recently picked up great this vintage hand-painted timber and wire ornament at The Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textiles Show. The trio features a guitarist, a percussionist on glockenspiel and vocals and a saxophonist. One can only imagine the sounds this merry band would make.

I'm really not sure of its age but I love the detail in the musicians faces, uniforms and instruments, the guitarists' guitar looks like its stepped right out of Pablo Picasso's Three Musicians. Thanks Emma for taking such lovely photos of this for me while I'm stuck at work.

Found! The Mariachi Mexicans

On a recent weekend getaway to a small country town called Millthorpe, I picked up these great carved timber and felt trimmed bookends featuring two Mexican men and their cactus, with matching sobreros and guitars. Millthorpe is a beautiful little town located between Orange and Blayney in New South Wales, Australia.

Found

I found this great old slide just sitting on the footpath on my way to work this morning. Definitely the highlight of my day so far. Might put up a found sign on the noticeboard at the local supermarket on my way home.

Olé

I recently picked up this vintage travel souvenir of a Spanish Matador/Torero at of all places The Sydney Vintage Clothing, Jewellery and Textiles Show. I really like the detail in its costume as well as the expression on his face. I think he will feature in an illustration sometime soon.
