A Day Of Printing

Today I visited the Rizzeria to print my 2 colour limited edition zine Dorothy Dish and Edward Spoon's Photo Album. The Rizzeria is collectively owned and operated by a bunch of self publishers and print makers in Sydney, Australia, and currently has a residency at The Paper Mill in Angel Place Sydney.

I had a great time printing it on their Riso RP3700 machine, yep that's right its made by the same Japanese company that produced the Gocco. The machine prints one colour at a time from a selection of nine spot colours. The RP3700 prints via a stencil and as the Rizzeria describe it, "stencil printing has a unique and beautiful quality, it’s not screen printing or offset printing - it’s stencil printing and it prints with paints!" and soy based paints at that. I must thank Jo, a Rizzeria volunteer for her help to get me started on the Riso.

Dorothy Dish and Edward Spoon's Photo Album
will be available from my stall at the MCA Zine Fair and from Sweets Workshop after that.
