Beck graced the stage at about 9:30 and would remain on it for nearly two and a half hours, playing a 28 song set. The gig had a super fun party vibe and was kicked off by some serious party favorites; Loser, Devil's Haircut and Novacan, before taking a quieter turn to showcase some more acoustic songs including one of my favorites, Soul of a Man and a cover of Bob Dylan's song Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat. Jack-Ass got people dancing down the ornate isles, which was quite a novelty to see in the State Theatre. The last five songs of the set; The New Pollution, Gamma Ray, Where It's At, Minus and E-Pro were a terrific combo to finish on, getting everyone dancing and leaving everyone on their feet.
Thanks Beck for a really fun, 2012 has been such a great year for live music.
