I recently received a fantastic email from a fan of my Pack of Heroes artwork asking if I do commissions and if so, would I be interested in doing an illustration of Doctor Who for him. Being a big fan of the Tardis-travelling Time Lord in my younger days I was thrilled to receive this request and promptly asked if I could draw the Doctor Who from my childhood, Tom Baker.
Of the eleven actors to play the character for me Tom Baker is the quintessential Doctor Who. Whenever I think of Doctor Who I think of him and hear his voice. I was a little nervous about representing his likeness in my illustration style but I am really happy with the result. There were a few extra items that I thought where mandatory inclusions in the illustration, of course there is the Tardis and sonic screwdriver but I thought having his extra-long scarf flowing right off the page would be a nice touch as would including a bag of his ever precious jelly babies.

A close up of the illustration showing the detail in the scarf.
My original pencil sketch.
